“By all measures, Tennessee’s MAcc program clearly produces some the brightest up-and-coming professionals in our industry. In my experience, one of the major contributors to the success of this program has been the personal relationships that the accounting professors have developed with their students. Despite being one of the larger MAcc programs in the country, the professors know each student by name and invest their own time into the success of each student. I know this because I consistently have faculty introducing me to their students as they help these students connect with career opportunities. Tennessee’s MAcc program truly is a key source of talent for PwC nationally.”
“Since the inception of PYA in 1983, we have counted on exemplary students from the University of Tennessee to join our growing firm, including many from the Master of Accountancy Program. Alumni from this outstanding program are some of our best and brightest and have worked across all of the facets of our business from tax, audit and consulting to other services through our affiliated companies. We have found students from the program to be very well prepared for today’s challenging business environment. Students from Haslam’s Master of Accountancy program have developed into our leaders today, and we look to new graduates each year to be our future stars.”
Director of Talent Acquisition, Pershing Yoakley & Associates
“The University of Tennessee’s Master of Accountancy has been an integral part of our success at PYA. We are fortunate to have this premier institution in our own backyard and are thrilled to see that the students who join us as interns and staff continue to grow and build a legacy with us. In our 30-year history, we have experienced significant changes in our industry, but the one constant is the caliber of the tremendously talented students who graduate from the Master of Accountancy program at Haslam.”
President, Burkhart & Co, P.C.
“The Haslam College of Business’ Master of Accountancy program has significantly impacted our firm’s professional profile. Over the past four years, Burkhart & Company has benefited by the added development of recruits from the program in the area of technical preparation, oral and written skills, interpersonal development and team orientation. The Master of Accountancy graduates have a marked advantage in workplace entry and career acceleration. Given the rigors of public accounting today, we believe Haslam’s Master of Accountancy program to be non-optional for individuals aspiring to long term success in this challenging arena.”

“For the last several years in the annual survey conducted by the Public Accounting Report, the Haslam College of Business was listed in the top twenty graduate accounting programs in the United States. The Haslam accounting program now attracts some of the best students in the state and the nation. In fact, a number of the accounting graduates have earned the highest academic achievement in the college. There are numerous accounting graduates from the program in managerial positions throughout the United States, including the former chief accountant of the Securities and Exchange Commission. These achievements are due to not only to the talented students in the program but also to its distinguished faculty. We need outstanding students to continue to achieve the highest recognition. Come join us so that together we can make a difference.”
